SaveNeighbor Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

SaveNeighbor may collect account information such as email address, name/display name, profile photo, profile/about information, account status, timestamps, and authentication-related information. SaveNeighbor may collect trusted network information, including connection requests, accepted connections, declined/removed connections, invite links, invite codes, and QR invite usage necessary to support the invite flow. SaveNeighbor may collect request information, including request type, pickup/drop-off location text, pickup name, instructions, requested time window, tip/compensation information entered by users, request status, assigned helper, timestamps, status updates, structured updates, completion confirmations, cancellation, and closeout information. SaveNeighbor may collect communications/support information and technical/device information such as browser type, device type, IP address, pages visited, timestamps, logs, error reports, session information, and abuse-prevention data.

2. How We Use Information

SaveNeighbor uses information to create and manage accounts, authenticate users, operate trusted connections, generate invite links and QR codes, show requests to relevant users, allow helpers and requesters to coordinate, maintain request status and history, display pickup/drop-off and request details to involved users, provide support, prevent fraud/spam/abuse/unauthorized access, debug and improve the service, and comply with legal obligations.

3. Who Can See What

Depending on the feature, information may be visible to the user, people they invite or connect with, users involved in the same request, the requester/customer, the assigned helper, and SaveNeighbor administrators/support personnel when needed. A helper assigned to a request may see pickup/drop-off location text and instructions. A requester may see the helper associated with their request. A public invite page may show limited safe information, such as a first name or generic invite copy. SaveNeighbor does not intentionally display email addresses, raw database IDs, or authentication provider IDs on public invite pages.

4. Invite Links and QR Codes

SaveNeighbor may generate personal invite links and QR codes so users can invite trusted people to connect. Anyone with an invite link or QR code may be able to open the public invite page. Opening an invite link does not automatically create a trusted connection. Users should not share invite links or QR codes with people they do not want to invite.

5. Location Information

SaveNeighbor may collect pickup/drop-off location text manually entered by users and may display it to users involved in a request. SaveNeighbor may provide links that open location text in third-party map services. Those services may collect information according to their own policies. SaveNeighbor does not currently use live GPS tracking unless explicitly added and disclosed later.

6. Payments and Tips

SaveNeighbor currently does not process restaurant orders or restaurant payments. If users enter tip or compensation information, SaveNeighbor may store and display that information as part of the request flow. If SaveNeighbor later adds payment processing, this Privacy Policy may be updated.

7. How We Share Information

SaveNeighbor may share information with other users as necessary to operate trusted connections and requests, with service providers that help run SaveNeighbor, if required by law/legal process, to protect rights/safety/security, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets. SaveNeighbor does not sell personal information to advertisers.

8. Service Providers

SaveNeighbor may use third-party providers for authentication, hosting, databases, email/notifications, map links, logging, analytics, security, and customer support. These providers may process information on SaveNeighbor's behalf.

9. Data Retention

SaveNeighbor keeps information as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, maintain request history, support users, prevent abuse, comply with law, and improve the service. Some information may remain in backups, logs, request history, or records after account changes or deletion requests where permitted by law.

10. Your Choices

Users may be able to update profile information, remove or decline trusted connections, stop using their account, request help with account deletion or data questions, and avoid entering unnecessary personal information into request instructions or profile fields. Privacy requests can be sent to support@saveneighbor.com.

11. Security

SaveNeighbor uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no online service is completely secure. Users are responsible for keeping accounts secure and using safe judgment when interacting with others.

12. Children’s Privacy and Minor Use

SaveNeighbor is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

SaveNeighbor is intended to be used by people who can lawfully create and manage an account, or by minors with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian. Parents and legal guardians are responsible for any use of SaveNeighbor by minors in their household or under their supervision.

Because SaveNeighbor may involve pickup locations, drop-off locations, trusted connections, request details, and real-world coordination, minors should not use SaveNeighbor to coordinate pickups, deliveries, errands, or local help without parent or guardian involvement.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without legally required consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to SaveNeighbor, contact us at support@saveneighbor.com.

13. State and Local Privacy Rights

Depending on where a user lives, they may have privacy rights under applicable law, such as rights to access, correct, delete, or receive information about certain personal data. SaveNeighbor will make reasonable efforts to respond to valid privacy requests as required by applicable law.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

SaveNeighbor may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use after changes means the user acknowledges the updated policy.
